Black Friday Parade

An extravagant street performance-art piece that takes over the busiest retail space in the country. A dazzling entourage catwalked along Oxford Street on Black Friday, making a commentary on the commercialism of Black Friday Sales and fast fashion.

Combining protest, performance art, theatre and fashion, the piece addresses the complacency and inaccessibility of the theatre industry to audiences, and takes the performance directly to the public, bypassing gatekeepers within the artist—venue—audience dynamic.
