multi-disciplinary theatre artist.
Receiving a place on the MA Contemporary Art Practice at Royal College of Art, my work grapples with European Imperialism in Asia and the manifestations of these legacies in the body, memory/amnesia, and beliefs. Decolonising modes of storytelling, I have used Immersive Technology to explore a deepening relationship to the embodied as opposed to the digitally disembodied.
My achievements led to my appointment as Co-Artistic Director of Papergang Theatre, a charity that champions ESEA dramatic arts; and Assistant to Contemporary Programmes at V&A East. I am Artistic Associate at Roots Touring, Yorkshire’s queer touring theatre.
Recent commissions include British Council’s Connections Through Culture to adapt Bizet’s opera Carmen with the University of the Philippines and Belfast International.
